Mr. Ashok Kumar Jain is the Founder and guiding force behind Expletus Legal, bringing over four decades of distinguished experience in civil, commercial, banking, property, trust and dispute resolution matters. Throughout his career, he has advised and represented public sector undertakings, financial institutions, corporate houses, charitable organisations and private clients before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts and Tribunals across the country. Renowned for his strategic legal insight, appellate advocacy and dispute management capabilities, he has developed a strong reputation for delivering practical and commercially sound legal solutions in complex and high-stakes matters.
Having commenced his legal practice in the late 1980s, Mr. Jain has witnessed and contributed to the evolution of India’s commercial and regulatory legal framework across several decades. His long-standing litigation practice has enabled him to develop extensive expertise in procedural strategy, appellate advocacy and complex dispute management. He is particularly known for his ability to analyse intricate factual situations, develop comprehensive litigation strategy and provide commercially pragmatic legal solutions tailored to client objectives. Mr. Jain has had the privilege of working alongside several eminent lawyers and senior practitioners across multiple jurisdictions and has developed a deep understanding of advocacy, institutional litigation and judicial functioning. His experience across trial courts, appellate forums and constitutional courts has provided him with a comprehensive perspective on dispute resolution and legal risk management.
As Founder of Expletus Legal, Mr. Jain has played a foundational role in establishing and expanding the Firm into a respected full-service legal practice with specialised expertise in Energy & Electricity Laws, Securities & Financial Regulatory Litigation and Commercial Disputes. Under his guidance and mentorship, the Firm has steadily built a strong reputation for professional excellence, ethical practice and strategic client representation.
Beyond his distinguished legal practice, Mr. Jain is also widely respected for his long-standing association with various Jain religious institutions, charitable organisations and community bodies, particularly within the Shwetambar Jain community, engaged in the preservation and administration of Jain religious institutions, community welfare and philanthropic activities. Over several decades, he has remained actively involved in legal, advisory and social initiatives connected with Jain religious trusts, temple administration, charitable governance and community welfare activities. His extensive understanding of both legal and community dynamics has made him a trusted advisor in sensitive and institutionally significant matters involving Jain religious bodies. Through the Nyas, he is actively involved in the preservation and promotion of Jain religious heritage and pilgrimage centres across India, including the development and management of significant tirths such as Bhaddilpur Tirth in Jharkhand, recognized as the birthplace and Kalyanak site of Lord Shitalnath (the 10th Tirthankar), and the Mithila and Sitamadhi Tirths in Bihar, associated with Lord Naminath (the 21stTirthankar) and Lord Mallinath (the 19th Tirthankar).
